Located in a 14 000 sqm park area facing the Municipality building in a newer neighbourhood of the İstanbul Anatolian side, the pavillion provides transitional shelter, shade, exhibition space and a walk-through experience for pedestrians, families with children as well as commuters of the adjacent subway station. The sculptural shape of the concrete pavillion is a manipulated form of the Nautilus shell with punctured glass ports to provide light.The structure consists of 118 pigmented, precast, in-situ mounted concrete shells produced with low carbon cement technology. The concrete is pigmented in a dusty rose color for public appeal.
