New Museum Building at Domkirkeodden in Hamar

II.2.4) Description of the procurement:
The architect Sverre Fehn’s Storhamarlåven was constructed in 1973 and the exhibitions are from 1980. At the time Storhamarlåven was a modern and future-orientated museum building. Now, however, Storhamarlåven no longer fulfils the museum’s requirements for exhibition premises nor for functions and facilities for employees and the public. We therefore need to supplement with a new, modern, and future-orientated museum building, which will house exhibition and public functions, a restaurant, offices, and workplaces for the museum’s employees in the same building, give the museum’s collections the correct storage conditions, and make room for modern workshops for historical restoration work. We invite tenderers to an open architect contest for a modern museum building that will be located together with two world famous building icons, architect Sverre Fehn’s ‘Storhamarlåven’ from 1973 and Lund+Slaatto Arkitekters’ (c/o Kjell Lund) ‘Hamardomen’ from 1998. We therefore have great quality expectations for the new building at Domkirkeodden.

The contest is announced by Norske arkitekters landsforbund on behalf of ANNO Museum AS (business No 994 933 272), Solørvegen 151, 2407 Elverum.
