Construction of the three new stations for Dnipro Metro is underway

The three new stations (Teatralna, Tsentalna and Muzeina) designed by Zaha Hadid Architects will connect the residents, businesses, cultural and academic institutions in Dnipro’s eastern districts with the city centre and the Dnipro-Holovnyi railway terminus.

Parking House in Dolni Brezany (Fránek architects)

In their concrete triangular three-level Parking House in Dolní Břežany, Fránek architects drew inspiration from the building’s function in setting one of the basic elements of the design – the road barrier. While on the north the barriers follow the curvature of building and form a ventilating facade, on the east and south wall fragments of the welded barriers were used as lost formwork creating small ventilation holes and diverse patterns.

Heytea Zao Flagship Store (CCD / Cheng Chung Design)

Based on modern approaches, CCD introduced classical architectural elements to inject timeless charm into the architecture and interior space. The most beautiful “sphere” strengthens the aesthetics of the space, which breaks conventional store design and creates an “undefined” inspiring space.

Faculty of Humanities, Charles University (Kuba & Pilař architekti)

Kuba & Pilař architekti converted a 1980s canteen building into new headquarters of the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University in Prague. While preserving the external shape and proportions of the original building, their main intervention was the creation of a generous central hall – a social center of the faculty, illuminated from above, with daylight coming in between the trusses of the skylights.
